2014 is going to be a busy year for me. Between working and writing, I thought a goal of getting 15 books read may be realistic though I hope to get to many more. I added them to my Goodreads 2014 goal and “to-read” list.
Selecting the books was quite an exercise. There are so many books I want to read and tons that look incredibly interesting. I also want to pick up some indie author books and provide reviews for these as well. That may happen toward the latter part of the year depending on how quickly or slowly I read through my list. First things first, right? In any case my selection boiled down to books I’ve really wanted to read and those in particular genres that were rated fairly high and had good, non-spoiler, reviews.
Being late January I’ve already started on my list. Obviously, I finished 1984 by George Orwell and you can read my review and comments about it. I’ve also started reading The Eye of Minds by James Dashner which I stumbled upon and found the premise to be interesting. I’ll of course have a review of that book when I’m finished. In any case, these books are either on my “read” or my “currently-reading” lists so don’t show up below. Additionally, a co-worker just recommended I read the new Robert Gates book that is full of controversy. Seeing as I had no other non-fiction book on my list I threw it on the tail end just in case I get to book 16 on the challenge. 🙂
I like having a goal. I like being able to make visible progress toward meeting that goal. I guess my reading list is no different. What books are on your 2014 list? Can you add number 17, 18… to my list with your recommendation?
