After what seems like a flurry of activity my first book, Serpents Unwound, has finally arrived and is now available through Amazon and Barnes & Noble. The print version will be up on Amazon some time next week but is available now through CreateSpace.
It’s a little bit overwhelming to think this book started as a NanoWriMo challenge and I managed to get it to print. I chose the “indie” route to publishing because it fit my goals, which was really just to make this book available. Still, clicking that “publish” button was hard to do. I was torn between excitement and doubt as I kept asking questions like: Is it ready? Did the formatting work right for the Kindle and the Nook? Does the cover look okay? Could I have done something more?
I think what I found is no book will ever be “perfect” and if you try for that you’ll never click the publish button. I’m happy with what I finished and hope that those who read it will enjoy it.
Anyway… I’m here and happy to say my first go at writing a novel has reached the end. Now on to my second go. It’s a learning and growing experience. Thanks for joining me, at least this far.
